You don’t need us to tell you it’s a beautiful lake – you already know that. What you maybe don’t know is what the lake does for us, and how we protect it and enhance it.
It’s an Alpine lake fed by meltwater from the Dolomites and the Paganella. The lake water is also used for hydroelectric power. In winter, we use it to cover the ski slopes with snow; in summer, we dive into its refreshing waters and teach our children how to steer a boat.
The Fishing Association monitors and preserves the Arctic char and Lake Trout species. It organises guided visits to raise awareness about them at the Ichthyology Centre.
